This approval enhances Greaves’ role in sustainable mobility and strengthens its leadership in electric vehicles.

Greaves Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd (GEMPL) which is a division of Greaves Cotton Ltd, has secured approval from the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) for its two-wheeler models like Nexus, Primus, Magnus, and Zeal. These models are part of the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS). With this recognition, the company can get government benefits that are meant to encourage people to adopt electric vehicles (EVs).

The company’s three-wheeler business, operated through its subsidiary, was already benefiting from EMPS Scheme incentives. With this new approval, all eligible two-wheeler models now qualify, enabling GEMPL to enhance its contribution to accessible and sustainable mobility solutions across India.

K Vijaya Kumar, Executive Director & CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility, emphasised that rejoining the EMPS scheme demonstrates the company’s commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions to consumers while reinforcing its leadership in India’s electric vehicle sector.
